A new President for the HSS FORUM

Carlos Pujana, HSS FORUM President

On January 26th, 2011, the International High Speed Steel Research Forum (HSS Forum) elected its new President, Carlos Pujana, today's Managing Director of Izar, which recently opened a new factory in March 2008 for HSS drill and endmill production near Bilbao in Spain.

Carlos Pujana, the successor of Eugen Valerius who retires after 9 years of presidency, highlights that the HSS Forum is now developing new web solutions that will be helpful to highlight technological evolutions of HSS tools. He adds that "while the HSS industry is picking up again worldwide, we will also be happy to welcome new members from the HSS tool industry".

The HSS FORUM, a non-profit association created in 2001, gathers tool manufacturers, HSS producers and coating companies. It is the editor of the HSS Smart Guide, a 200-page pocket guide for machinists and students which provides basic and advanced information, including useful tips, related to machining operations using HSS and PM HSS cutting tools. The HSS FORUM also organizes technical conferences every four years.
